The University of Alicante is made up of fifty-four departments and eight university schools which are dedicated to basic and applied research, comprising more than a hundred and ninety study groups which have earned themselves a well deserved prestige both at a national and international level in research studies and development.
The University of Alicante has eight university schools of research, orientated towards experimental research, higher university education and scientific and technological advice at the service of public and private institutions: university school of Geography, university school of Water and Environmental Science, Interuniversity school of Valencian Studies, Interuniversity school of International Economy, Interuniversity school of Educational Science, School of Criminology, International Maritime School of Alicante and the Interuniversity school of Research towards Peace.
