An international network of several hundred development pratictioners, non-governmental organisations, academics/action researchers, private sector representatives, and policy makers interested in advancing reflection and practice in the area of particpatory development
The Forum has four key objectives:
- to share field experiences using participatory methods among practitioners, policy makers and academics working in this area
- to encourage the adoption of alternative approaches to mainstream development
- to develop understanding of and capacity in participatory development
- to exchange information about participatory development initiatives (e.g. conferences, publications, training in participatory methodologies)
Web site includes a directory of members, a Virtual Resource Centre (VRC) on Participatory Development of full text documents on best practices and lessons learned in participatory development
