The Korea Institute for Industrial Economics and Trade is a government-funded research institute which aims to strengthen economic efficiency and industrial competitiveness by advising government and business on policy issues and strategies.

KIET’s main research activities cover wide micro-economic issues such as industrial and economic development, regional industries and industrial policies. The insitute is divided into seven research centers as follows:
