The Lebanese Center for Policy Studies (LCPS) is an independent, non-profit research institute based in Beirut. It is concerned with issues of political, social, and economic development. LCPS publishes studies and organizes conferences that analyze and aim to improve public policy. It also publishes material to increase public awareness of critical policy issues.
LCPS was founded in 1989 by a group of Lebanese concerned with the public interest. Its headquarters in Beirut consist of administrative offices, a conference room, a specialized library, and other research facilities. LCPS draws on a network of experts in Lebanon and the Arab world to carry out its work. It cooperates with independent, non-profit research institutions in the region and around the world. LCPS prepares research projects and related activities, raises funds to support these projects, and implements them. LCPS funds its activities through research grants from international and Lebanese philanthropic organizations, the sale of its publications, consulting contracts with United Nations specialized agencies and other international public organizations, and unrestricted contributions from individuals.
