The Center for the Dissemination of Economic Knowledge (CEDICE) was founded in 1984 by 40 individuals who followed Sir Antony Fisher’s vision and guidance. CEDICE is a non -partisan, non-profit, private association dedicated to, research, its dissemination and the promotion of philosophical, economic, political and social thinking that focuses on individual initiative and activities conducive to better understanding of the free market system and free and responsible societies.

CEDICE carries out a variety of activities and programs to meet its objectives, and their success has expanded CEDICE’s presence and influence throughout Venezuela. CEDICE provides a variety of publications that promote the importance of open societies. CEDICE distributes its bibliography of authors including von Mises, von Hayek, Menger, Popper, Buchanan, Friedman, Bastiat, Hazlitt and many others to bookstores throughout the country.

Their library offers services to professors, students and the public in general, and its staff advises those doing research. CEDICE also oversees a book donation program in which CEDICE’s major contributors donate complete collections of books to high schools or institutes of higher education, and to public libraries. CEDICE supports academic Research by leading Venezuelan liberal thinkers. The first of these Works, Social Security in Venezuela, won the Third Place at the Antony Fisher Memorial Award in 1992.
