The Asia Pacific Action Alliance on Human Resources for Health (AAAH) is a response to international recognition of the need for global and regional action to strengthen country planning and action. During a a workshop between the 3-5th August 2005 in Bangkok organised by the International Health Policy Program-Thailand (IHPP-Thailand) with support from the Rockefeller Foundation, WHO, CIDA, and other development partners and experts, participants from 10 countries – Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, Indonesia, Lao PDR, Philippines, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Vietnam and Thailand – agreed unanimously that there is a need to establish a regional mechanism that would address HRH issues in the region. This website will serve as one of the communication channels between members of the AAAH.
