GARNET aims to improve the exchange of information between researchers in the water and sanitation sectors world-wide. Managed by WEDC (Water Engineering and Development Centre, see separate entry) as a network of networks (some 16 networks currently involved)
Information services include:
(a) Newsletter: distributed on paper and electronically (in Latin America via CEPIS), full text on WWW site.
(b) WWW site: information on Garnet, profiles of member networks, publications, directory of funding agencies in the sector, links to other sites.
(c) Water-and-san-applied-research: Discussion list: on applied research information, aimed at those with technical engineering, institutional or health backgrounds.
(d) Publications: including: directory of UK based research in water and sanitation, available online in Adobe Acrobat format available free via the Internet. Full-text of working papers available.
