IRC is an independent, non-profit organisation working for change towards more people-orientated water and environmental sanitation programmes. Services include: evaluation/advisory service; advocacy; documentation/information; publishing programme; training; research. Founder and coordinating agency of the INTERWATER web gateway (see separate entry) and linked to the Water Supply and Sanitation Collaborative Council.
Information services include:
(a) WWW: includes information on key topics and products and services, full text of its Source Weekly and Source Bulletinsand French version Faits Nouv’eaux,
(b) IRC Documentation bibiliographic database (IRCDOC) searchable online. Holds some 13,000 documents, videos , mostly grey literature. increasingly made available in full-text on the web. Offers literature searches, document delivery, question and answer service (fees charged). 1980-date.
