R&D institute coordinated by the Romanian Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. ICI’s main objective is the elaboration of scientific research works and technological development in the area of information technology and data communications. ICI carries out the following types of activities:
- advanced and applied research within national as well as European R&D programs
- technological transfer based on the outcome of the research work in the information technology and data communications field
- high performance computer networking: development, implementation and service providing
- system integration for large scale projects designed for the ‘informatisation’ of enterprises and public services
- consulting activities in computer science and management (feasibility, diagnosis and prognosis studies, strategic planning, elaboration of technical specifications for tenders, upgrading studies, etc.)
- providing ‘turn-key’ systems tailored to fit clients’ requirements
- development of applied software with high degree generalisation features
- assessment of software solutions, projects and information systems and standardisation in information technology
- technical assistance
- dissemination of research results, professional advice and documentation in computer science and information technology
ICI Publishing House quarterly publishes the ‘Studies in Informatics and Control’ International Journal and the ‘Romanian Journal of Information Technology and Automatic Control’.
