World Hospitals and Health Services (WH&HS) is the official journal of the International Hospital Federation. First launched in 1929 as Nosokomeion, the renamed World Hospitals and Health Service, as of 2004, will be merged with the official IHF newsletter, Hospitals International and will be published four times a year. The new journal will include new features such as surveys, country profiles, case studies, feature articles from leading figures, academic articles focussing on practical operational matters together with advertising. It will also feature news of global events and IHF activities, conference diary, listings of courses and workshops and practical, academic editorial from leading international figures in the field of hospital and healthcare management.
Its target audience remains health service leaders, managers and other health professionals, keeping them up to date with developments and thinking across the international healthcare sector, and dealing with such issues as innovations in healthcare delivery; sound health management principles; quality assurance; hospital construction; architecture and planning; comparative analysis of health systems; strategic planning; cost containment and financial planning techniques.
