The United States Initiative on Joint Implementation (USIJI) is a flexible non-regulatory program that encourages participants in the United States to engage in green house gas reducing projects overseas.
The USIJI was launched in 1993, as part of President Clinton’s Climate Change Action Plan. The program is designed to attract private sector resources to encourage the diffusion of innovative technologies to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions and promote sustainable development.
