Network of research and educational institutions and experts in the SADC region. It was formed in 1995 as a collaborative training project of the Carl Duisberg Gesellschaft e.V (CDG) of Germany, the Institute of Environmental Studies (IES) of the University of Zimbabwe and various universities within the SADC region.

The network is organized in more than a dozen technical groups throughout the SADC region. Individual members and institutions from all SADC countries are represented. The main objective of the network is to bring together individuals, universities, industrial organization and other institutions in the Southern African region in a financially sustainable programme of environmental research, training and capacity building.
