Southern Alliance for Indigenous Resources (SAFIRE) aims to promote rural development through the sustainable utilisation, commercialisation and management of natural resources. IT focuses on the use of “southern” (local) approaches to sustainable development in Southern Africa.
SAFIRE is currently implementing a range of projects under three broad livelihood enhancement programmes. These include:
- benefit driven natural resources management
- enhancing food security and nutrition
- information for development.
