RUAF is a global resource centre initiated by the international Support Group on Urban Agriculture (SGUA) as a mechanism for the documentation, exchange and discussion of research data and local experiences on urban agriculture. Its main aim is to facilitate the integration of urban agriculture in the policies and programmes of national and local governments, technical departments, research centres and NGOs and to facilitate the formulation of locally relevant projects on urban agriculture. RUAF is implemented by seven regional organisations in coordination with ETC International in:

WWW includes weblinks, publications, information on regional focal points, an online database of urban agriculture contacts and experts, e-conferences, bibliographic databases, the Urban Agriculture magazine (see separate Eldis entry), and the Production in Aquatic Peri-Urban Systems in Southeast Asia (PAPUSSA) project and e-forum (see separate Eldis entry).
