Part of GEMS Programme (see separate entry). Responsible for producing and collecting data for the annual Environmental Data Report published by UNEP. Maintains a database to support this: currently being developed as a primary source of global environmental data and related information (i.e., value-added data), focusing initially on time series data to support indicator development. Also developing a meta-database system for the compilation of information on the use and development of biomarkers as indicators of exposure to and effects of environmental contamination in wildlife.
