The Millennium Campaign exists to encourage and support existing campaigns working at the regional and national level to hold governments to account for their promises in the Millennium Development Goals.
The Millennium Campaign website provides a platform for independent campaigns to inform a large audience about their work and encourage people to join them in making the millennium goals a reality. The Millennium Campaign actively encourages actors from civil society, the media, schools, universities, etc. to share their events, achievements, messages, materials and news via the website, but the Millennium Campaign does not and cannot take the credit for the locally and nationally owned campaigns, nor elements of these campaigns, featured on the website.
