Independent research and publishing organisation. Works to educate on issues of social justice, human rights, and economic and political development in Latin America and the Caribbean. In particular it works to further popular initiatives from the region and include an integrated gender perspective. LAB has a unique role in producing books which cover the entire region of Latin America and the Caribbean for a non-specialist public, as well as country and topic-specific publications. LAB has been publishing original books for more than 20 years, and continues to be a point of reference for all those interested in development issues in Latin America and the Caribbean.
