The Initiative for Central Africa (INICA) is a platform for discussion and action around people and groups active in cross-border initiatives in Central Africa (civil society, private sector, churches, universities, NGOs, local and national authorities, regional institutions and donors). It aims to act alongside other ongoing initiatives in Central Africa, promoting people to people networks based on drive and passion to move forward.

INICA is working to build on existing cross-border initiatives working towards peace and development in Central Africa in order to build synergies to support bottom-up approaches for development. In this respect INICA aims to:

  • identify and promote cross-border initiatives
  • facilitate and inform on local initiatives
  • develop a network for field level actors.

INICA services include:

  • strategic information on ongoing cross-border initiatives, regional dynamics, projects and potential sources of funding
  • networking and facilitation
  • promotion and visibility
  • informal diplomacy
  • dialogue and methodology
  • annual networking events.

The website gives access to a range of resources such as a media centre, events calendar, forum, maps and publications page. The site is available in English and French.
