Collection of over 50 spatial data servers, primarily in North America, that have digital geographic data primarily for use in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) image processing systems, or other modelling software. These data collections can be searched through a single interface based on their descriptions or metadata.
WWW access is through either the Federal Geographic Data Committee (FGDC) or Alaska Geospatial Data Clearinghouse (AGDC) WWW sites.
Searches involve a parrellel search of the databases of particpating organisations, folwed by a table of results and summary records describing the data.
