It has developed policy principles and strategies to support activities that include the fields of: sexually transmitted diseases (STDs); multi-sectoral HIV/AIDS interventions; HIV/AIDS and life-skills education for young people in and out of school, media information campaigns; provision of safe blood and care. It has developed and run training courses concerning safe blood, planning and implementing STD management and laboratory testing. It has also supervised new data analysis and projection models to assess and/or predict the pandemic’s impacts.
