The Centre on Housing Rights and Evictions (COHRE) aims to promote and protect the right to housing for everyone. It does this through a varied work programme which includes:
- housing rights training;
- research and publications;
- monitoring, preventing and documenting forced evictions;
- fact-finding missions;
- active participation and advocacy within the United Nations and regional Human Rights bodies and activities in the South
COHRE’s work covers four thematic areas:
- women & housing rights and housing;
- property restitution;
- litigation and
- water rights
