The Centre for Regulatory and Policy Research organizes activities related to energy and environmental economics, policy planning, policy development in energy, climate change, transportation, urban environmental systems, and regional environmental planning. In addition, it supports different consumer forums for the effective participation of consumers in the regulatory process and undertakes consulting assignments, and training and capacity-building exercises.

The Centre organises workshops, seminars, brainstorming sessions and training programmes on various issues related to infrastructure regulation and reform. It also conducts training programmes on issues in infrastructure regulation for senior officials of the Indian Administrative Service on a regular basis.
