The Centre for Policy Analysis (CEPA) was established in 1993 as an independent, non-governmental think- tank, which provides analysis and perspectives on economic policy issues of interest to Ghana and the developing world.

CEPA has a mandate to promote an objective debate on key policy issues on the economies of Ghana but also the ECOWAS and Africa with emphasis on macroeconomic growth and poverty alleviation issues. CEPA focuses on 4 key research areas which are:

  • macroeconomic policies and finance
  • international trade and agriculture
  • infrastructure and utilities, and the social sector
  • poverty and gender issues

CEPA seeks to facilitate and promote a pro-active dialogue among policy-makers, decision makers, implementers, academics, business people, fellows and other professionals on policy issues.

CEPA’s main objectives are to:

  • provide alternative policy options to policy makers and other stakeholders through quality research and policy analysis
  • enhance the capacities of other institutions in Ghana through training, networking and internship
  • disseminate and publish economic information in order to raise public awareness of economic and development issues
  • consolidate the institutional base of CEPA in order to enhance its performance

CEPA organizes workshops, seminars and lectures to the business community and civil society on results and findings of its research activities. Other dissemination products include their on-line publications, research working papers, policy briefs and discussion papers.

Access to CEPA’s on-line library and information centre as well as its announcements and activities is available through the website.
