The Center specializes in research, formulation and evaluation of policy involving social issues, labor issues, and all others that intervene in human development. The center operates in the following areas
- Research: seeks to contribute to the development of theories, methods and applications of Social Economics to the reality and domain of Latin American countries
- Evaluation: proposes the development and study of social data bases to be able to evaluate social programs and policies with the goal of alleviating poverty
- Implementation of Policy: seeks to formulate and monitor the implementation of the best government programs and policies integrating the perspectives of both theoretical and empirical social economics.
