The institute is an independent technical and research organisation, which analyses and promotes the participatory management of natural resources in the islands of the Caribbean. Programmes of research, analysis and advocacy are undertaken and results disseminated throughout the Caribbean. Work has been going on at the institute for over 20 years and significant expertise and information is available from CANARI.

The website contains a list of publications including many significant reports available to download. Other publications can be ordered from the site. The site focuses on one of the institute’s projects in detail every two weeks. The institute also carries out training and development programmes throughout the Caribbean.
