Information services include:
(a) Export Market Information Centre (EMIC): library and research facility. Offers a large collection of statistics, directories, market research reports, country profiles, statistical CDRoms, mail order catalogues, trade fair catalogues, travel guides, development plans, investment guides, etc. Open to the public (to exporters without appointment, for students with appointment).
(b) World Aid Section: part of EMIC, covering aid projects. Holds economic reports, sector analyses, tender notices, procedural guidelines. Data on some 6,000 projects in various stages of development.
(c) Export Market Information Research Service (EMIRS): research bureau service (fee charged)
(d) DTI Library: includes collections on industrial policy, regional policy, industrial development, manufacturing, business, technology policy. Open to the public (by appointment)_
(e) WWW site has list of DTI contact points (arranged by commodity), speeches, press releases, some full text publications including DTI regulations, biotechnology support/regulations in the UK, and country profiles on the top 80 UK export markets (with short country overview and contact information in UK/in country for export support), links to other export-related sites
