<p>2011 marks the first year of the South Korean Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) with Mongolia as a Strategic Development Partner Country (SDPC). This is part of an effort to maintain and further enhance the close ties between Korea and Mongolia, which has definitely strengthened and is one of the highly appreciated accomplishments of the KSP with Mongolia in 2010.</p>
<p>KSP with Mongolia was initiated in December 2009, when a written Demand Survey Form was submitted to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance (MOSF) via an official channel. Out of the eight topics submitted, three of which were the highest priority were selected after a series of meetings between the Korean and Mongolian delegation to better reflect the demand of the Mongolian government. Onwards, 2010 KSP with Mongolia conducted research and workshops under the grand theme of Public Private Infrastructure Investment and Deposit Insurance in Mongolia covering Preliminary Feasibility Study (PFS); Public Private Partnership (PPP) and Deposit Insurance (DI). Thanks to the active cooperation and participation Mongolia, the program was a great success. The outcome of the 2010 KSP included actualization of the final policy recommendations, including the design of the PPP regulations and guidelines, and formulation of a draft Law on Deposit Insurance to introduce a limited deposit insurance scheme.</p>
