Maintains a runoff database: with ICSU and WMO as part of the World Climate Programme Water Programme. Aims to collect world-wide runoff data and to develop a spatial grid system for hydrological measurements. To be expanded with data from UNESCO database developed for International Hydrological Decade (IHD, 1965-74). This data to include data from all the major rivers in the world.
