Network researching on public/private relationships in health care in low and middle income countries. Current focus of activity is on (a) the regulation of private health sector players in developing countries and (b) the selective contracting of private sector players to achieve public policy goals.

Aims to achieve these objectives through the organisation of research meetings and conferences, the dissemination of research findings by paper and electronic publication, the creation of collaborative links between researchers working in different parts of the world and facilitation of expert consultations particularly in areas of research methodology.

Coordinated by the Centre for Health Policy at the University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg and funded by the European Union.
