PROCITROPICOS (The Cooperative Program on Research and Technology Transfer for the South American Tropics) results from the joint efforts of the National Agricultural Technology Institutes (NARIs) of Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Surinam, and Venezuela and IICA. The purpose is to institutionalize a permanent system of coordination, mutual support, exchange of knowledge, and cooperative actions related to the generation and transfer of agricultural technology for the sustainable development of the South American tropical ecosystems
