A free service which is managed by the United Nations Volunteers programme and allows organizations serving the developing world to recruit and involve online volunteers. In March 2005, the UN’s OV service, formerly hosted at NetAid, will celebrate its fifth year anniversary. Online volunteers translate documents, edit and prepare proposals & press releases, research topics and gather data, create web pages, brochures and newsletters, offer professional expertise and advice, manage other online volunteers, create databases, and more. By using the Online Volunteering service, NGOs can become better at involving ALL volunteers, not only online volunteers.
