The ACC Network is a mechanism for World Food Summit follow-up. It was established by the United Nations Administrative Committee on Coordination (ACC), and is jointly managed by FAO and IFAD, in close cooperation with WFP, and aims to:

  • mobilize support for government efforts to implement the World Food Summit Plan of Action and rural development and food security programmes
  • reinforce ties between UN organizations and other stakeholders
  • foster synergy and avoid duplication of efforts
  • exchange and disseminate information, experiences and best practices

Cuurrently consists of 65 worldwide ACC Network Thematic Groups, with more planned. Membership consists of involve UN agencies, relevant governmental and non-governmental organizations, bilateral and multilateral organizations, and representatives of civil society and the private sector.

WWW site includes: thematic groups and priority themes that they are working on: country profiles; database of related documents, searchable by themes. Documents are available in full-text online.

Also runs ACC Network Knowledge Forum, a discussion forum aimed at encouraging the information exchange, debate and networking.
