Independent research centre. PRIO’s overall research is organized into four Strategic Institute Programmes:

- Conflict Resolution and Peacebuilding
PRIO’s scholarly work is disseminated through publication in peer-reviewed journals, as well as through books, reports and conference papers. The PRIO library provides a core stock of relevant material for peace research, democracy, security policy, disarmament and environmental issues. Publishes two international journals in cooperation with SAGE Publications in London: Security Dialogue and Journal of Peace Research.
