Project carrying out an integrated program of research, policy analyses and capacity building to enhance the participation of developing countries in the next WTO 2000 negotiations in agriculture, in order to identify and assess their interests and policy options on major issues to be taken up in the next round in agriculture, to articulate those interests effectively, and to formulate negotiating objectives and strategies.
To ensure that the high-level research and analysis from preparatory research and policy analyses and from global conferences have an impact on policy formation at the country level, policy workshops in developing countries have been organized to provide a forum for capacity building. The workshops allow local experts from individual countries to present and to discuss country-specific results and to interact with international experts.
