RAPNet is a network for researchers and policy makers to share
information, discuss and learn about how to improve the links
between development research and policy. It is part of the Global Development Network’s (GDN/GDNET) Bridging Research and Policy Project.
Website includes case studies, literature reviews, research reports and a discussion list (called gdn-research)
The programme is one of the follow-ups to an international workshop was held on 16-17 July 2001 at Warwick University on “Bridging Research and Policy” to initiate an exploration of the relationship between research and policy.
The workshop brought together participants to develop a bridging programme to improve linkages between development research and policy. The bridging programme will engage individuals and organisations involved in development policy, implementation and research in a wide range of activities including research, networking and capacity-building, designed to add value to existing initiatives in this area.
It was agreed that GDNet should provide an electronic home for the bridging project, at least for its initial stages. Consequently information regarding the status of the project and papers produced relating to the project will be hosted on this site.
