Economic Research Institute conducts research in both theoretical and applied economics, strategies and economic policy recommendations development, studies of poverty reduction and economic development analysis. The Institute provides a combination of fundamental research and practical recommendations in all fields of theoretical and applied economics.
The research work is heavily related with the fundamentals of transitional economies and is carried out in the following directions:
- economic reforms in Armenia (macroeconomic, structural and institutional)
- research and development of annual national short, medium and long term development programs in Armenia
- research on globalization and integration processes, trends and problems
- investigation of Armenian economic policy fundamentals and the public management system
- examination of draft projects and legal documents in respect of economic implications and development of recommendations
- execution of the sociological surveys and analytical reports
- training and re-training of high qualified specialists in economic disciplines
