Conducts research in the area of agricultural science and related disciplines. The organisation publishes research results and cooperates internationally with other scientists and organisations. One purpose of the FAL is to obtain basic scientific knowledge to assist in political decisions on nutrition, agriculture, forestry and consumer issues.
