Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting is an independent research organisation founded by senior Ukrainian politicians and the German Advisory Group on Economic Reforms to promote the principles of a free and democratic market economy. Institute is jointly financed by the Ukrainian and the German Governments.
IER aims are:
- undertaking policy related research and analyses
- providing policy advice on the basis of economic research for decision-makers, inside and outside governments
- designing and implementing training programs in economics for Ukrainian scholars as potential economic reformers
IER areas of specialization are:
- economic policy and local government
- macroeconomic analysis
- structural reforms
- European integration
- regional, fiscal and social policy
The website in Ukrainian and English contains main descriptions of the IER activities and projects, as well as access to full texts of research papers and reports. Contributions come from the Institute’s staff, the German Advisory Group and outside experts.
