‘Sociometer’ is an independent sociological center in Yerevan. Its main aim is to conduct socio-economic and socio-political research on the basis of mass surveys of the population, expert and elite surves.
In its work the Center employs a wide range of sociological techniques, from personal interviews to focus-groups and expert polls. ‘Sociometer’ activities include:
- public opinion study
- research in culturalogy
- research in political science
- Sociological research
The Center also takes part in the research on the acute socio-political issues in Armenia. Together with Winrock International it conducted a research on the Community Response to Domestic Violence and Trafficking in Humans. ‘Sociometer’ presented findings of the role of Armenian women in society and cases of violence against them.
