Some areas of departmental research and publishing activity include:
- approach to the regional competitiveness and its factors in the Czech republic and the EU, Regional clusters and sector analysis, Modelling and predication of regional development by means of mathematical-statistical methods
- regional development strategies, strategic management of the regional and municipal development in the EU and the CR
- ecological management of companies, environmental programmes from the view of sustainable development
- public policy, regional development and non-governmental non- profit organisations
- application of methods, approaches, techniques and tools of strategic management used by companies and non profit corporations in the conditions of micro-regions creation and macro-regions development from the view of EU integration
- effect of the new economy on macroeconomic development of transition economies
- economic conditions of the revitalisation of structurally handicapped regions
- strategy of the old technical structures utilisation for purpose of the travelling activities development in different industrial agglomeration of the Czech Republic.
Faculty publishes two journals: “ECON” annual publication in English; and “Ekonomicka revue” in Czech with abstracts available in English.
