Lirne.net is a strategic collaboration of academic institutions aiming to facilitate ICT-related institutional reform throughout the world – through research, training, dialogue, policy and regulatory advice; and to build human capital in this new area as the foundation for effective policy, regulation, governance, management and development in new "network" or "knowledge" economies.
LIRNE.NET has regional centres and strategic partners in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Europe.
In Africa we work with Research ICT Africa! (RIA), a network that conducts research on ICT policy and regulation that facilitates evidence-based and informed policy making for improved access, use and application of ICT for social development and economic growth.
In Latin America our partners are Comunica and the Regional Dialogue on the Information Society (DIRSI – Diálogo Regional sobre Sociedad de la Información) .
LIRNE.NET’s European partners are the Center for Communication, Media and Information Technologies (CMI) at Aalborg University; The Economics of Infrastructures Section, at Delft University of Technology in The Netherlands; and The Media@Ise Programme at the London School of Economics.
