The World Federation for Mental Health (WFMH) is the only international, multidisciplinary, grassroots advocacy and education organisation concerned with all aspects of mental health. Its membership includes mental health workers of all disciplines, consumers/users of mental health services, family members and concerned citizens. Its aims include heightening public awareness about the importance of mental health; improving attitudes to mental disorders; and prevention, care and treatment of mental, neurological and psychosocial disorders.
The Federation is accredited as a consultant to the United Nations and its specialised agencies, working closely with the World Health Organization, UNESCO, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, the UN Commission on Human Rights, the International Labour Organization and others.
