The Center for the Study of Violence is an interdisciplinary academic center for the study of the persistence of human rights violations and resistance to the rule of law. The NEV/USP’s main areas of research include:

  • law

Aside from engaging with the academic community through its network of institutions around the world, the Centre also hosts workshops, seminars and public lectures with practitioners from research areas and professionals from the public and the private sector. It has also undertaken collaborative efforts with government officials to influence public policies in Brazil.

The center also provides research training to university students both at graduate and at postgraduate level, as well as continued education programs and postgraduate training in human rights.
