The NCPAG is a research and teaching institute concentrating on governance, the private sector and civil society. The college offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses in public administration and management. The college has three main research centres. These centres focus on:
- national policies and institutions
- local and regional governance
- leadership, citizenship and civil society
