Hosted and administered by the World Health Organization, the Global Health Workforce Alliance (GHWA) is a partnership dedicated to identifying and implementing solutions to the health workforce crisis. It brings together a variety of actors, including national governments, civil society, finance institutions, workers, academic institutions and professional associations. The alliance undertakes the following activities:
- raise awareness and political visibility
- convene stakeholders to work together and reduce fragmentation and waste
- provide an enabling environment for accelerating country action through evidence-based advocacy and action
- trains and support local leaders to develop and implement sound health workforce plans
