KEMRI is the national body responsible for carrying out health science research in Kenya. KEMRI is host to a number of research centres focusing on specific areas of national and/or strategic importance in health science. The institute also hosts the Climate and Human Health Research Unit , examining the climate impact on vector, water borne and airborne diseases. It is involved in conducting a project entitled ‘Capacity building to evaluate and adapt to climate change-induced vulnerability to malaria and cholera in the Lake Victoria region’.
