gender cc – women for climate justice – is a global network of gender activists, and gender experts from all regions working for gender and climate justice. This website is a response to the growing public attention to climate change, and the increasing need for information about women’s perspectives and gender aspects in climate change policies and measures. It draws on the knowledge available through the gendercc network and provides information on:
- research on gender and climate change and related areas
- case studies that clarify and illustrate the gender aspects of climate change
- activities and campaigns to make women’s contributions to climate protection visible and further the integration of the gender dimension in climate policy
- mechanisms and tools to put the integration of gender dimensions in climate change policies and measures into practice.
The platform both illustrates the proliferation of organisations promoting a gender perspective in climate policy and serves as a networking platform for these organisations, independent gender and climate experts and non-experts. Soon, registered users will be able to feed literature or case studies into the databases. Currently users can share information through the gendercc email list.
