The International Development Law Organization (IDLO) is the world’s only intergovernmental organization whose sole mandate is to strengthen the rule of law and good governance in developing countries, countries in economic transition and those emerging from armed conflict. Since its establishment in 1983, IDLO has provided training and technical assistance to over 25,000 professionals in more than 175 countries, established 46 alumni associations, acquired U.N. observer status, led comprehensive research programs, and implemented technical assistance programs throughout the world for over 44 public and private sector donors. Headquartered in Rome, Italy, IDLO currently operates program offices in Afghanistan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, and Southern Sudan.
