<p>The Korea Deposit Insurance Corporation (KDIC) has had ties with the Deposit Insurance Board (DIB) of Tanzania since 2009. In November 2010, the DIB applied for the 2011 Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) and asked the Korean government and the KDIC to provide technical assistance for the establishment of an independent deposit insurance agency. In August 2011, the KDIC conducted a demand survey and a pilot study. The results were reported at an interim reporting session followed by training for policy practitioners in November 2011.</p>
<p>The final reporting session was held in January 2012, along with a senior-level policy dialogue, in which the KDIC provided policy consultation regarding how Tanzania would build a deposit insurance system that matches the country’s circumstances, and laid out a roadmap for future development</p>
