Allowing more people to access financial services is a good way to build climate resilience in developing countries, according to this paper released as part of the UK government’s BRACED programme. The study also found that non-traditional financial services are better able to reach the most vulnerable people. In addition, this publication makes the following recommendations, regarding climate resilience: Strengthening the financial infrastructure; Engaging with domestic financial service providers and telecoms companies; Improving capacity, financial literacy and trust in the financial system among vulnerable groups.
